Let Us Pray No. 23

  • January 23, 2017

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.” Psalms 1:1-2

Abba, dear Lord, our delight is in you and in your words. We desire to walk humbly with you in righteousness and in mercy. We cannot do it on ourselves, except when you give us the wisdom and understanding to see things which are excellent and that we may be filled with fruits of righteousness that glorifies you. May we be able to present you to all the people around me in the way we speak and deal with them. As I meditate on your words today, Lord, I pray for our children. Let them not go astray. Guide them in the path of righteousness. We are not with them all the time. May they seek you and delight in you the same way we do. Give them also the gift of discernment that they may avoid those who will be bad influences. May they not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. I ask you Lord, to give them sincere and godly friends, caring and loving. Provide them your spirit that they may become leaders that influences others to righteousness and not be followers of sinners. Protect them Lord from the evil and save them from temptations. In your name we pray. Amen.
