Let Us Pray No. 188

  • July 7, 2017

“So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm.” Joel 2:13

Abba, you are a Sovereign God and a Jealous God. You are the Lord who swore by yourself, for there is no one greater than you, an Everlasting Covenant with us: that you shall be our God and we shall be your people. You demand us to keep this covenant, to walk before you and to be your people through our faithful obedience to you. Our obedience is proof that we have no other gods but you. It will be our great sin if you find us having gods to obey. Lord, you are a Covenant keeper. You are faithful to your promises. You do not lie. Your words are true and steadfast. The world will perish but not your words. However, you find us unfaithful by disobeying our covenant duties and forsaking you when we succumb to the temptations and trials. We easily forget and lose heart when you already told us that we can bear and overcome them. We also forget that during those times, you are helping us to succeed. Lord, forgive us when we fall into sin. Continue to give us the strength, the wisdom and the endurance to overcome. Today, Lord, we cry to you for help. Help us to persevere, to be immovable in our faith and fervent in  fulfilling our part of the Covenant until the last breath, to prove to you our faithfulness. Amen.
