“Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.” Psalms 119:34
Abba, Eternal Father, the infinite God who has no beginning and no end. You created everything with your infinite power and wisdom and controls everything and holds everything together. You are the Alpha and the Omega, in all places at all times. Thus we do believe you are the most knowledgeable and most infallible. We admit that we do not have the knowledge and understanding that will keep us from doing wrong. If we hold on to what we know, we shall be destroyed, sin and perish. How can we have the wisdom? Even if we seek them, we cannot find them. Unless you reveal them to us, we shall not know them. You have spoken long ago through your prophets, and now through your ministers with the aid of your written words in the Holy Scriptures. But who would interpret them to us? we cannot learn from our fallible selves nor from those Ministers whom you did not send. Therefore, we shall come to your House and inquire from your appointed Leaders. Still we all need the illumination to your words by the blessing of your Holy Spirit. Thus, Oh Lord, we ask you to give us the understanding by sending us your spirit that we may see your words according to faith you have given us. Bless us with understanding and the will to do them and live by them. That is the only we we can benefit from your words, to make us holy, to serve you and be acceptable living sacrifices acceptable and pleasing to you. So help us o Lord. In your name we pray. Amen.
