Let Us Pray No. 138

  • May 18, 2017

“Then I called upon the name of the LORD: “O LORD, I implore You, deliver my soul!” Psalms 116:4

Abba, our Father, you are the stronghold of our souls and we have no other refuge but you. Had it not been for your forgiveness and redemption we might still be living in our past woeful lives, a life with no direction except to eternal punishment. You showed us the beauty of your holiness that we appreciate daily and that we intensely desire to walk on and to live for. You taught us what eternity is and gave us a living hope which the world has not and cannot have. You revealed to us what is temporal and what is eternal, what is real and what is not, what is truth and what is lie. Lord, help us to stand firm while we are passing through in this world where temptations and trials assault us. Purify our minds and motives and help us to never forget we have you on our side. May we have the confidence in you for your words are our armor and weapon against all the dark schemes of our enemies. Likewise, may we become instruments to save others from eternal death and lead them to you who is the source of eternal life. This we pray to you oh God, Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
