Loyalty makes a person attractive. And it is better to be poor than dishonest. (Proverbs 19:22 NLT)
Honesty is the best policy. This virtue is something most people are taking for granted nowadays. People are willing to cheat and take advantage of other people to get what they want. They think that the wealth they gain from being dishonest will make them happy but in reality they will not. How can you be happy when you lay on a king size bed but your conscience keeps you up all night until morning? Will you be really happy when you eat in banquets knowing that the people you cheated cannot even have three proper meals a day? My beloved brethren, it is much better to suffer hunger than to be dishonest. It is better to lose fairly than to win by cheating. Being poor in this life does not make anyone less of a person. In fact, those who are poor in material things are more blessed, just as the Lord Christ Jesus said, “for yours is the kingdom of God.” We may be poor in this life because we are fighting fairly, but trust in the Lord and continue living according to His will, and in due time, we will receive immeasurable treasures in the eternal life.
