“But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Luke 22:32 NKJV
The Apostle Peter died a martyr’s death. He requested that he be hanged on an inverted cross because he believed that he is not worthy to die as Christ died. He denied Christ three times when Christ was on His way to Calvary. He then went back into fishing with the others after the death of Christ. Christ knew him as well as the other Apostles. They were always with Him. They all witnessed Him turned water into wine, healed the blind, the lepers, the mute, deaf, lame and those possessed by demons. They were there when Jesus raised Lazarus from death. But then, Satan was there to try and lure them to his side. In fact, Judas Iscariot turned his back to Jesus. And now it is Peter’s time to be tempted as Job was tempted. So Jesus prayed that Peter hold fast his faith to overcome all temptations. And when he overcomes, go back to his ministry and strengthen the faith of the brethren. In abiding by the command of Jesus, he wrote two epistles, and lived a life of caring and teaching to build up the Church.
Our Lord Jesus Christ wants us to go through trials for perfection. With His permitted will, Satan will be there to put stumbling blocks on our way. We should be steadfast in our faith, hope and love. When we have gone through trials, lets us advise the brethren how Christ helped us and showed us the way. So that those who are in the same situations, can overcome as we did. Remember, brothers and sisters, we are like the Apostles in the midst of the stormy sea. Jesus was there to help us. We owe each other our loyalty. We owe the Lord our faithfulness. Stay in the boat and be saved.
