If you were pure and upright,
Surely now He would awake for you,
And prosper your rightful dwelling place. (Job 8:6 NKJV)
In just one day, Job simultaneously lost his seven sons, three daughters, and all his possessions. A few days later, he was afflicted with a dreadful disease. His wife nagged him to leave God and save himself from deep suffering. He was scorned by the people who were close to him. His friends were of little help to him. While his misery took too long, he came to the point where it seemed death was the only way to end his sufferings and receive God’s saving power in the afterlife. Many of us fall on the attitude that it is irrational for us to suffer from such relentless torments. We end up questioning, murmuring, and complaining: “Of all the people on earth, why me?”; “Why does it have to be me?”; “Why must this happen to me?” We may not understand right now why such things occur, even though we keep on doing what is according to God’s will. God wants you to know His divine purpose for your life. It is to prove if we would still love GOD despite all the hardships we are experiencing. God loved you unconditionally, can you love Him unconditionally? When you do, keep your hope that no matter how dark and cloudy the sky is above you, heaven’s light will certainly shine on you.
