Dedication of the New Marikina Chapel

  • June 22, 2017

June 14, 2017, it was a day under the summer sun. People can be seen everywhere holding their fans, as they wipe off their sweat due to the scorching weather. Indeed, on that day, people wished for a glass of ice cold water. But the hot weather was no match for the fiery and fervent spirits of the brethren of the Most Holy Church of God in Christ Jesus – for that day was the long awaited dedication of the new chapel in Marikina City.

Everyone was excited. The members of the Operations Committee, headed by the seven bishops, were present. Members of Agape Choir, The New Jerusalem Choir, and Choir of Zion from Sakop Uzziah blessed the event. There were also invited guests speakers who witnessed this fateful event.

The dedication rites began with the General Bishop, Elder Hiel (Isagani Capistrano), performing the ritual of knocking on the door of the chapel after reading Revelations 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”

The opening remarks were delivered by one of the bishops, Elder Zurishaddai (Benjamin Carlos). Everybody, inside the chapel, sang the Church’s national anthem aloud, overflowing with gladness in their hearts, for the abundant blessings God has given to the brethren in Marikina.

Then, Elder Josaphat (Joel Nepomuceno), one of the Presbyters, and the current Division Minister of Marikina, narrated the brief history of the Most Holy Church and the brethren in Marikina. For so many years, it was their dream to have a special place to hold worship services. Now, God granted their prayers.

Guest speakers from the local government of Marikina also came to this event. They were Hon. Joseph Briones, Brangay Chairman of Malanday, Marikina; Mr. Ponchie Santos, Executive Assistant of Hon. Marcy Teodoro, City Mayor of Marikina; and, Bro. Rodolfo Natividad.

Their messages focused around the important role of the Church in the local community – to serve people by attending to their spiritual needs and being the bridge to bring families closer to God. By having reverential fear of the Lord, a way is paved for the people to become good citizens of the country, specifially in Marikina City.

The attendees of the dedication rites were serenaded by some of the choir groups in the Most Holy Church.

It gave them living hope that serves as a source of inspiration for everybody to unite in upholding all the projects and programs, which the Church Administration will launch to further propagate the Gospel.

Of course, dedication rites will not be complete without hearing the Gospel. Elder Hiel delivered the message of God entitled THE CHAPEL IS FINISHED, NOW IS THE START OF OUR MISSION. LET US PUT UP AND BUILD A SPIRITUAL TEMPLE OF GOD.

The Gospel taught and reminded everyone that God always provides the needs of the Chruch in order to accomplish its mission.

This is why no one should ever leave the mission of the Lord hanging. Instead, everyone should exert their best efforts to uphold all missions – especially in building and expanding the Kingdom of God by preaching each and every soul the Gospel of salvation and converting them to believers of the Lord Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.

After the sermon, the unveiling of the dedication tablet was done.

This symbolizes that everything within the chapel are now possessions of God and are solely dedicated for glorifying the Lord. Thus, everyone should treat all of these with respect.

A prayer is always a beautiful way to end a blessed and spirit-filled activity. One of the bishops, Elder Cristiano (Julito Belisario) lead the closing prayer.

After the prayer, the benediction was given by God through the Seven Bishops to bless everyone who participated in the dedication rites.

As everyone left the chapel, their spirits can be felt to have been uplifted with eagerness and excitment – to start the next day as the onset of the extensive upholding of the mission of the Lord Jesus Christ.
