Time and time again, God has been revealing Himself to men so that they may know Him as the only all-powerful God. The Pharaoh of Egypt hardened His heart even after the 10 plagues God brought to Egypt to release Israel from bondage. God knew that Pharaoh will not bow to Him. God made it an opportunity to demonstrate His power so the whole world will know that He is Lord Almighty. Goliath, the great Philistine Warrior, was slain by young David with just a sling shot. Jesus let Lazarus die before He came to resurrect him from the dead. He performed many miracles besides turning water into wine; cleaning the lepers; delivering those afflicted by evil spirits; making the lame walk; making the blind see; and, feeding 5000 men with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 pieces of fish. Most of all Christ Himself died on the cross and rose to life again after three days. These happened so that we all may recognize Him as the God that we must worship and serve. If we serve Him until the end, we will experience the greatest miracle of being resurrected from the dead, transformed to glorious immortal bodies, and witness His great glory when He returns on this earth as He promised.
