The LORD saved me from death; he stopped my tears and kept me from defeat. (Psalms 116:8 GNB)
Lazarus, Jesus’ friend, was sick and dying. Martha and Mary, Lazarus’ sisters sent word to Jesus so that He may heal him. When He came, Lazarus was already dead for four days, buried in his tomb. Jesus wept. (This is the shortest verse in the Bible). He then commanded Lazarus to come out and Lazarus came back to life. Jesus is God. He has the power to give life. Jesus gave life to a friend. Saints, God gave His life for us. We were dead and we were resurrected by the power of His death. “There is no greater love than this, than to lay down His life for his friends.” He suffered and died on the cross for our salvation. He rose from the dead to conquer death. Let us have this wonderful hope, of our resurrection when He comes back. Then, we can defeat the last enemy which is death.
