Happy are those who mourn; God will comfort them!
(Matthew 5:4 GNB)
When you smile, the world smiles with you but when you cry, you cry alone. This is quite true in the world. But not with God who, because of His love for us, came and laid down His life for our salvation. Nothing can separate us from the love of Christ not even death. He comforts, encourages, and helps us in our sorrows. He himself went through deep sorrows. He knows what we are going through. He not only sympathizes with us but also suffers with us. He carries our burden. Blessed are those who mourn because they feel the presence and the love of the Lord in their lives. There are two kinds of mourning: sinful mourning and godly morning. The sinful mourning is due to losses of things which are of the world. Do not love the world and do not conform to the ways of the world. Those will not be blessed. The godly mourning is when you find yourself poor in spirit, repentant of your sins and longing for forgiveness and restoration. Blessed are those who also mourn for others who are separated from Christ, the way to safety, the source of liberating truth, and of a meaningful
and eternal life. If you are blessed, you are truly happy. May peace and joy abound in your morning.
