Let Us Pray No. 182

  • July 1, 2023

For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite one. (Isaiah 57:15)

Abba, Lord Father, You are a just, merciful, and holy God dwelling in the highest of heavens. You have no beginning nor end. You made the universe and all living and non-living things, the Lord of the heavens and earth. No human hands can serve and worship You as if You need anything from them. Indeed, You need nothing, Lord, for You are complete and perfect. You sustain all life, breath, and all things in all Your creation. However, it is astonishing that You are willing and desiring to dwell and remain in every heart whose spirit is contrite and humble. It is unbelievable how a God, whose throne is the heavens and footstool is on earth, still resides in weak and fragile vessels like us. Thank You, Lord. Your grace is sufficient to us for Your strength is made perfect in our infirmities. We do not lose heart, though our bodies are gradually perishing, You are renewing our soul day by day! The words of truth and Holy Spirit You bestowed upon us are at work in our souls. Like mirrors, they enable us to behold Your glory and transform us into Your likeness from glory to glory. Dear Lord, please to dwell in our hearts and in our midst. We need You! We love You! Embrace and strengthen us for Your namesake. Amen.
