The LORD alone led his people without the help of a foreign god. (Deuteronomy 32:12 GNB)
The Lord made the whole universe from nothing. With His words, He makes things happen. He has the sole power to command all creation for the sake of His chosen people. He commands the great army of angels in heaven ready to execute His orders. No one is like Him in power. Foreign gods, who were worshiped by the heathens, are nothing to Him. They are not true gods. Baal, the god of weather, was proven to be worthless when His believers prayed to send fire and rain on earth but no fire nor rain came down from heaven. Elijah prayed to God and fire burned his sacrifice and rain poured in the land. The pharaoh was defeated, whose god was a serpent. Moses’ staff turned into a snake and ate the serpents of the magicians in Egypt. Jonah came to Nineveh from the belly of a whale. The king heard he come from the belly of a fish and ordered all the land to repent according to Jonah’s message. Do you know why? The king thought Jonah was Dagon, the half fish and half man god of the Ninevites. You see there is only one true God. All the rest are fake.
