You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. (Ephesians 2:8 CEV)
By grace, we have been saved. We do not deserve to be loved and be chosen as Children of God and Heirs to His promises. We have been separated from Him. We were dead because of our sins. We have not done anything which will merit our salvation. But He did save us by giving His life as payment for our sins. The gift of faith, through the Gospel that we have received, made us acceptable to Him. We should, therefore, keep the faith. Faith should be with works of obedience and service to God. We should not fail to do our duties as His chosen Children. We have to cooperate with God for He is the one working in us to make us perfect and worthy to partake His glory. Commit ourselves to God. Commit ourselves to obey Him.
