We are spirit beings created by God for works righteousness. Our soul is the inner man that dies when we commit sin. In order for us to rise from the dead, we need God to breathe His spirit into us that we may live again. When we were baptized, God sent His spirit to dwell in us. That moment was our rebirth in Christ. We were reborn as children of God. We journey in life and encounter temptations and difficulties that test our faith. We need God‘s power to survive and overcome. Our prayer connects us to God. With prayer, the Spirit of God will flow in us. We are like electric motors which will only function if we are plugged into the source of power. Without electricity, we can do nothing. The Spirit of God empowers our inner self. The abundant power of God through His spirit is available for all of us to be strengthened. Unfortunately, we spend a lot of time minding our outer self. We dress up, wash, groom, eat etc. for our physical being but spend less time for our soul. Brethren, even if we look good and well on the outside but weak and frail on the inside, it will not do us any good. So, connect with God through prayers, meditation, and living His words.
