Let Us Pray No. 199

  • July 18, 2017

“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.” Psalms 37:7

Abba, you are merciful and just God. We are the recipient of your mercy when you called us out from this sinful world and transferred us into your kingdom. You offered yourself to help us carry our heavy burdens and give us rest from our hard work as we walk in this present life. People may find rest in worldly things and satisfy themselves from the temporary pleasures this world offers. Lord, we have tasted your love and affection. We desire and delight in you more than anything in the world. Yes, we do sometimes envy the wicked when they prosper, while we suffer in doing righteousness. But you have instilled in us that our reward is different from them. Their rest is temporary while we rest in your love forever. Father, you told us not to be anxious about anything, but ask everything from you. We now present to you Oh, Lord, our prayers, today, and every day, please stay with us. If you are with us, and for us, who can be against us? You are our good Shepherd who brings us to green pastures, leads us to still waters that refresh our souls, protect us from enemies, and give us genuine rest. You give us permanent peace that even our enemies attack us, we are still feasting in your love. When we pass this life, you shall give us eternal rest and be delighted in you forever and ever. Amen
