“He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.” 1 John 2:10
Abba, our Lord God, you called us out of the kingdom of darkness and brought us into your marvelous light in your kingdom. You blotted out our sins and made us holy through the life you offered once and for all. You prosper us countless blessings which is more than enough for us to begin each day with a grateful heart. The love you have poured out in our hearts is the first and foremost reason why we should live cheerfully and religiously. We do have troubles, but they are nothing compared to the succession of blessings you bestow us. Allow us to use them and pass them on around us for we know that there are others who live in sorrow and desperation of their spirit. Let it be our desire that the poor and the needy have a portion in the material and spiritual things you lavish us. Likewise, the incapable should benefit from our skills and talents they do not have and from our strength, let the weak and feeble in spirit obtain strength and courage. Let us always be reminded, oh Lord, that we are indebted from all the wonderful things you have done and given us. Empower us to pay you back through our obedience to your commandments… to love you as you loved us first and we to love one another and to serve one another. Amen.
