So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Doing this, you will never stumble or fall away. (2 Peter 1:10 NLT)
Let us value and nurture God’s high calling for us to be members of His spiritual body, the Most Holy Church. It is so amazing to know that you and I have been chosen and elected as children of God since the beginning of time. It is our destiny to be with God for all eternity. It is not of our own doing. We do not deserve this considering the life we spent in weakness and in sin. As the elect of God, we have a duty to prove that we are the true children of God. First, honor Him by obeying all of His commands. Be holy for He is holy. Second, love your neighbors as you love yourself. Third, be the light of the world by leading the sinners to Christ. Fourth, work hard for your personal growth as a Christian. You may not be able to prove yourself by doing great feats but you can prove yourself by doing small things with great love.
